Why Your Wedding Timeline Matters More Than You Think

Hi friends,

March brings momentum... venues are booked, vendors are being secured, and timelines start taking shape. This is often when couples realize just how many moving pieces exist on a wedding day. A thoughtful timeline can be the difference between a stressful day and one that flows beautifully.

This wedding is a perfect example of how a well-planned timeline allows moments to unfold naturally. Nothing felt rushed, and the day had space for both elegance and emotion. It’s a great visual companion to the timeline conversation.

What a Wedding Photography Timeline Should Look Like
Your wedding timeline isn’t just a schedule, it’s the backbone of your entire day. This blog walks through how timelines impact light, energy, creativity, and your overall experience. If you want space to breathe, laugh, and actually enjoy your wedding, this is a must-read.

Padding your timeline isn’t about planning for things to go wrong — it’s about giving yourself room for things to go right. Some of the most meaningful moments happen in the in-between.

Some of my favorite time with my couples is during our planning meeting, we do this meeting super early in the planning process so your have it to reference through the rest of your planning. The reason its my favorite time is because not only is it the most helpful tool in my arsenal but also because its where I hear all about the most important moments to be captured on your wedding day.... A calm timeline creates calm energy and that always shows up in photos.💛

If you’re planning a 2026 or 2027 wedding and want photography that feels effortless and intentional, I’d love to connect.

Cheers,

Hi Friend, If you've been around SLO Town for a while, you probably know that every fall I open a limited number of Fall Mini Sessions. For more than thirteen years, they've become something many families look forward to. I've watched calendars fill, little ones grow, and familiar faces return year after year. But somewhere along the way, I realized they had become something much bigger. The more I thought about it, the more I realized... These sessions have never really been about fall. Yes,...

Hi friend, I've spent the last couple of weeks back on the Central Coast photographing Summer Sessions and weddings, and I can't tell you how full my heart feels. It struck me this week that although every day looked different, they all had one thing in common. One day I was documenting two people promising forever. The next, I was chasing toddlers across the beach with parents whose wedding I photographed years ago. Different milestones. Same story. It reminded me that this job has never...
